As I am dedicating myself to this weight loss and fitness I am checking books out at the library every week and reading on line articles and researching. I thought I may compile for myself the best ideas out of every program… but, it is really astonishing me how much conflicting information I am seeing. I usually turn to my personal trainer (I write down “Sasha” questions) to help clarify…. so here are two examples from this weeks research…
Abdominal Work- I read in one book that if you have a lot of belly fat that you should not work your abs with sits up, ab machines and such. That it will build the muscle under the fat and your belly will get bigger. I was totally mystified by this…. Sasha says that is totally untrue and that we need to build our cores to make all of our exercises more effective.
Another one that I was very concerned about was that you should lift weights before doing cardio (as opposed to cardio then weights). The article said you burn your current sugars with the weight lifting then when you do cardio you will target adipose fat. Well, Sasha says that there are studies going both ways on that one. But, the biggest thing is who can do cardio after an intense weight training? I know I would never do as much cardio if I did it after. I recuperate much faster from cardio then weight training.
Anyway, just two examples… what conflicting info do you see out there?
